Asbestos Inspectors identify and assess the condition of asbestos-containing materials.

Legislation: NH RSA 141-E; Administrative Rules Chapter Env-A 1800

Certification Requirements:

• Must apply for a certificate in accordance with Env-A 1810.16
• Provide documentation of attendance and completion of an initial approved training course for asbestos inspectors
• Provide documentation of attainment of a score of 70 percent or greater on the required written examination
• Provide documentation demonstrating the applicant has a minimum of six months experience in a comparable occupation or two months field experience under the supervision of a certified asbestos inspector or management planner

Examination: Written examination consisting of 50 multiple-choice questions, attaining a score of 70 percent or greater

Continuing Education: An annual four-hour refresher course and passing a written examination of 25 multiple-choice questions with a score of 70 percent or greater is required

Fees:

• Certification: $200
• Annual renewal: $200
• Certificate replacement: $20

Reciprocity: Permitted if standards for licensure are substantially equivalent to those of New Hampshire
