Dietitians organize, plan, and conduct food service or nutritional programs to assist in promotion of health and control of disease. They may administer the activities of a department providing quantity food service, or they may plan, organize, and conduct programs in nutritional research.

Licensure Requirements:
- Must be of good character
- Hold a baccalaureate or higher degree from a college or university approved by the board with a major course of study in human nutrition, nutrition education, food and nutrition, dietetics, public health nutrition, or food systems management
- Successfully complete a dietetic internship of no less than 900 hours, pre-professional practice program, or coordinated program with documented experience in the practice of dietetics under supervision of a registered, certified, or licensed dietitian
- Successfully pass the examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
- Maintain continuing professional education requirements
Examination: Written examination required
Continuing Education: 20 hours of continuing professional education related to the relevant practice in the 24 months prior to renewal

- New license: $110
- Biennial renewal: $110
Reciprocity: Permitted, provided the requirements or standards for certification or licensure in that state are equivalent to, or greater than, those of New Hampshire
