Plumbers assemble, install, and repair in buildings the pipes, fittings, fixtures and other apparatus of water and drainage systems for bringing in the water supply and removing liquid and water carried wastes, according to specifications and plumbing codes. Plumbing applies to pipes within the foundation wall of the building or within one length of pipe from the building. A Master Plumber is any person, firm, or corporation that, as a business, hires or employs a person to do plumbing work, or without hiring any person does that work as a principal business or auxiliary to a principal business for his or its own account. In New Hampshire, a person must be a Master Plumber in order to be in business, and/or can act in the capacity of a Journeyman Plumber without a second license.

Licensure Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Hold a Journeyman plumber's license for at least six months
- Pass examination
Examination: Written examination required
Continuing Education: A minimum of three hours per year of continuing education, totaling six hours for each two-year licensing cycle, is required for renewal
Fees:
- Initial license: $310
- Biennial renewal: $300
- Late fee: $25 per month
Reciprocity: Not permitted, however, an out-of-state licensee with proof of licensure and/or certification from the state in which they claim to have worked is eligible for the licensing examination
