A Medical Technician is a health care worker who assists licensed health care professionals in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Any health care worker who has access to controlled substances and has access to or contact with patients in a health care facility or in a medical establishment, but is not otherwise licensed or registered by a specific New Hampshire regulatory board, is considered a medical technician under this regulation. Nurses licensed in another state working in New Hampshire under the Nurse Licensure Compact are excluded.

Registration Requirements
- Submit a completed Medical Technician application, including:
- Reports of any pending criminal charges, criminal convictions, plea agreements in lieu of convictions, or complaints made to or dispositions made by licensing, certification, or registration boards, and
- The applicant's work history over the last ten years
- Pay the registration fee
- Provide a two inch by two inch passport-quality photograph taken within 90 days of the date of application
- Provide a complete set of fingerprints and a notarized criminal history record release form
- Upon Board approval of the application, a temporary registration may be issued, pending receipt of the fingerprint and criminal background checks

Continuing Education: Not required at this time
Fees:
- Initial registration: $110
- Criminal background check: $47.75
- Biennial renewal: $110
Registrations expire at the end of the month two years from the date of issuance
Reciprocity: Not permitted
