License Description JOB DESCRIPTION: A professional engineer designs machinery, equipment, products, and electrical and waste systems for efficient and economic performance. The engineer plans and coordinates the activities surrounding project development. This may include drafting, developing detailed drawings, conducting preliminary research, consulting clients, and evaluating and testing ideas. Most engineers specialize in one of the 25 major areas of engineering such as structural, mechanical, electrical, petroleum, chemical, or civil engineering. Employment is based on area of specialization, and engineers are often employed in manufacturing, communications, and architectural services.
