License Description JOB DESCRIPTION: A hoisting engineer operates and controls an electrically driven hoist to control the movement of cages, skips (box-like containers), and mine cars. They are also responsible for inspecting and maintaining their equipment, which may require adjustments or minor repairs. Underground hoisting engineers are employed in the mining industry to assist in the removal of minerals such as coal, ore, and copper.
