License Description JOB DESCRIPTION: A mine superintendent plans and coordinates activities of mining personnel. The superintendent studies survey data and confers with engineers and mining personnel to determine the excavation and operation plans for the development of the mine. Monitoring the observance of mining laws, safety procedures, and excavation is also the responsibility of the underground superintendent. Underground superintendents are normally employed in the mining industry and supervise the excavation of minerals such as coal, ore, or rock.
