Emergency Medical Technician
License Description
An emergency medical technician administers stabilization, transportation and medical care to sick or injured persons. All EMTs provide basic life support. The EMT-C is the primary provider of advanced life support in Rhode Island. The Paramedic has greater knowledge of life support and latitude to institute advanced life support.
