License Description
LICENSED ASSISTANT BEHAVIOR ANALYST
Individuals involved in the design, implementation, and evaluation of environmental modifications to produce socially significant improvements in human behavior are behavior analysts. This professional provides services that can include the empirical identification of functional relations between behavior and environmental factors, known as functional assessment and analysis.
REQUIREMENTS
Individual must be at least 21 years of age at time of requesting license.
(a) The applicant is a board certified assistant behavior analyst (BCaBA) who is credentialed through the nationally accredited behavior analyst certification entity; and
(b) The applicant is not the subject of any disciplinary actions by the certifying entity at the time of application; and
(c) The applicant provides proof of ongoing supervision by a licensed behavior analyst (LBA) who is certified as a BCBA or BCBA-D under the certifying entity's requirements for supervision; or
(d) The applicant is qualified by the department of intellectual and developmental disabilities (DIDD) to provide behavior analysis services prior to July 12, 2012 and the requirements listed in T.C.A. 63-11-307(c) are met.
(e) Submission of the application packet as required including pasport picture and certified birth certificate along with supporting documents as required by committee.
(f) Proof of ongoing supervision by a licensed behavior analyst currently certified as a BCBA or BCBA-D.
(g) An applicant shall cause to be submitted to the Committee's administrative office directly from the vendor identified in the Committee's application materials, the result of a criminal background check.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Educations to qualify and maintain national certification and continuing education requirements of the certification.
EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS:
Certification examination as required by Behavior Analyst Certification Board
CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Individual must maintain national certification and any continuing education requirement they require. On renewal of licenses evidence of 3 hours of cultural diversity training is required.
