INSURANCE PRODUCER
License Description INSURANCE PRODUCE

An individual is required to be licensed under the laws of this state to sell, solicit or negotiate a policy of insurance on an insurer's behalf. Insurance producer licenses are issued for the following lines of authority: Life, Accident & Health, Property, Casualty, Title and Personal Lines.

LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:
 Applicant must be 18 years of age
 Has not committed any act that is a ground for denial, suspension or revocation
 Complete 20 hours of pre-licensing education for each line of authority
NOTE: Pre-licensing and continuing education providers and courses must be approved by the Department of Commerce and Insurance for the licensing of insurance producers
 Pass state examination for the applicable line of authority
 Submit a finger-print based criminal background check
 Complete and file the NAIC uniform application and fee of $50.00

RENEWAL AND CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
 Completion of 24 hours of continuing education (including 3 hours ethics) is required biennially with the renewal of the license
 Licenses may be renewed for 2 years by submitting a completed NAIC uniform renewal application, fee and required continuing education
