TN FIREWORKS DISPLAY OPERATORS
A TN Fireworks Display Operator is an individual who by experience, training and examination by the state, has demonstrated the necessary knowledge and ability to use and supervise fireworks, pyrotechnics, or flame effect displays.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age, must not have been convicted of or pleaded guilty or nolo contendere to any state or federal felony, and must show that the applicant has worked under competent supervision on at least ten (10) displays in each area in which certification is desired within the twelve-month period immediately preceding the application. A license can be obtained by submitting a completed initial application along with; required fee, Eligibility Verification for Entitlements Attestation, three completed Verification of Experience for Fireworks Operator forms for each certification desired; Outdoor, Pyrotechnic, or Flame Effects. Pass the state examination for each certification desired.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma.
EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS:
Pass the state examination for each certification desired. You will receive an email requesting that you call the PSI testing agency to schedule your exam.
CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Six (6) hours of continuing education every two (2) years, with required renewal fees for each certification.
RENEWAL:
Licenses are valid for two (2) years from the date of their issuance.
