License Description WASTEWATER COLLECTION SYSTEM OPERATOR GRADE

Person who is qualified to control the manipulation of equipment and thereby determine the integrity of a system classified as Grade I for the collection and transmission of wastewater to a treatment plant.

PROSPECTIVE:
Certification is required for persons in direct charge of wastewater collection systems of Grade I.

REQUIREMENTS:
An applicant must have a high school education or equivalent, twelve months operating experience in a wastewater collection system, and meet examination requirements. A maximum of three months of college classwork or related training can be substituted for the same amount of experience.

CONTINUING EDUCATION:
Within each 3-year period each certified operator must satisfactorily complete a conference, training course, or school approved by the Board.

EXAMINATIONS:
Examination is written (except accommodations made for disability). It may contain matching, multiple choice, true-false, discussion, and short answer questions and may contain problems. 70% is required to pass.
