CERTIFIED GENERAL APPRAISER
License Description
Real Estate Appraisers examine real property and estimate its market value. When buying or refinancing real property, mortgage lenders frequently require an appraisal performed by a license holder. A Certified General Appraiser is a person certified by TALCB to perform real property appraisals. A Certified General Appraiser is authorized to appraise all types of real property without regard to complexity or transaction value for federally related transactions and non-federally related transactions. Note: The Licenses issued by the TALCB primarily relate to real estate appraisals used in transactions such as change of ownership. A separate appraiser license is issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for those who appraise real estate for property tax purposes.
