WATER WELL DRILLER/PUMP INSTALLER
License Description Well drillers engage in the drilling, coring, boring, or construction of any water well, monitoring well, dewatering well, and certain injection wells. Drillers operate portable drilling rigs, maintain drill bits and equipment, and record drilling progress and geological data. Drillers must submit copies of well logs to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. At least one person must be licensed on the drilling site at all times. Water well pump installers engage in the placement and preparation for operation of equipment and materials used to obtain water from a well. This includes the installation of pumping equipment in new water wells, repairing existing pumps, and establishing seals and safeguards as necessary to protect the groundwater from contamination.
