License Description PLEASE NOTE:  FOR THE JUNE 30, 2022 RENEWAL, LICENSEES MAY COMPLETE ALL 18 CONTINUING EDUCATION HOURS ONLINE FOR RENEWAL!  THE BOARD EXTENDED ONLINE HOURS FOR ONE ADDITIONAL YEAR DUE TO COVID!  THERE ARE NO? MANDATED HOURS FOR THE 2022 RENEWAL!West Virginia operates on a fiscal year, July 1 through June 30.  All chiropractic licenses expire annually on June 30.  All license renewal requirements are to be postmarked on or before July 1 of each year.  Renewal requirements are as follows: Renewal Form (completed, signed, and dated) Continuing Education (18 Hours) Renewal Fee ($300 in-state; $150 out-of-state) Annual Renewal Fee for PLLC and/or Corporation ($150) The Executive Secretary of the Board will mail the renewal forms to the address on file prior to expiration date of license. Proof of eighteen (18) continuing education hours taken between July 1 and June 30 of each year must be presented.  The hours must be sponsored by an accredited chiropractic college.  Twelve (12) of the required eighteen (18) MUST be classroom hours.  The Board will permit up to six (6) online hours out of the required eighteen (18).  The Board may require that six (6) of the eighteen (18) hours pertain to certain subjects, such as communicable diseases, first aid, sexual boundaries, record keeping and other subjects that the Board considers appropriate.  The programs shall be approved by the Board prior to presentation.  The programs shall be conducted by a faculty member of a Board approved CCE or its successor school or college, unless otherwise approved by the Board.  The Board, at its discretion, may also approve programs conducted by recognized authorities from fields other than chiropractic. Newly graduated doctors of chiropractic who receive their initial license in the year of their graduation are exempt from the continuing education requirements; however, are required to meet all other aspects of license renewal. When license renewal requirements are postmarked after July 1, the licensee will be subject to a late fee and after July 30, an additional reinstatement fee.  After a lapse of two (2) years, a license may be issued or reinstated only after the former certificate holder, subsequent to the lapse, has fulfilled all other requirements of licensure as set forth in WV Code Section 30-16-15(e) and/or has passed the National Special Purposes Examination (SPEC) for Chiropractic.
