FERTILIZER
License Description License required for distributing, selling, or manufacturing fertilizer products in Wisconsin. Licensees must also complete and submit a fertilizer tonnage report and pay tonnage fees per ton for fertilizer products distributed and/or sold in Wisconsin during the previous calendar year. A permit is required for distributing or selling "low-analysis" fertilizer (fertilizer with less than 24% nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium) in Wisconsin. An annual fertilizer license is also required along with the completion and submittal of a fertilizer tonnage report and payment of fertilizer tonnage fees. In addition, true and accurate labeling for each product must be submitted with the low-analysis fertilizer permit application. A permit is required for distributing or selling nonagricultural fertilizers or special-use fertilizers in Wisconsin for nonfarm, experimental or research use. Also required to distribute or sell special-use fertilizer designed and labeled for remedying nutrient deficiencies.
