BARBERING & COSMETOLOGY APPRENTICE
License Description An apprentice is a person who is contracted to an owner of an establishment or his/her designated agent, who is responsible for the supervision and training of the person in all branches of practical work and all subjects required to be taught in schools of barbering or cosmetology To Obtain an Apprentice Permit: a. Contact the Department for information and application materials. This information will include details on completing an apprenticeship contract with the Dept of Workforce Development (DWD). The Application for Initial Apprentice Contract and Permit (form #1488) must be mailed to the Department of Workforce Development (DWD). Please contact the Board office for the name of your DWD representative. b. Complete the apprenticeship contract with DWD and obtain an apprentice permit.
