License Description HEALTHCARE PRACTITIONERS AND TECHNICAL WORKERS, ALL OTHER SOC CODE 29-9098 Entry Salary $23.97/hr Average Salary $31.02/hr Job Description Midwives provide primary prenatal, intrapartum and postpartum care to women and newborns. Requirements 1.Have a high school diploma or equivalent. 2.Graduate of a midwifery program accredited by the Midwifery Education Accreditation Council (MEAC). 3.Provide evidence of successful completion of Board approved courses in the treatment of respiratory distress in newborns, pharmacology, the treatment of shock, intravenous therapy, and suturing specific to midwives. 4.During the course of their educational process, all applicants must acquire the full range of entry-level midwifery skills. Restrictions Convicted of a crime which renders the person unfit to practice midwifery. Violations of the Midwives Licensure Act. Providing false or misleading information to the Board. School Located in Wyoming There are no midwifery schools in Wyoming. License Midwives must be licensed by the State Board of Midwifery. Examination An examination is not required but applicants must provide proof of current certification as a certified professional midwife by the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM).
