MEDICAL ASSISTANTS SOC Code 31-9092 Entry Salary $14.91/hr Average Salary $17.76/hr Job Description Speech-Language Pathology Assistants work under the supervision of a licensed speech-language pathologist or audiologist assuming duties such as conducting speech-language screenings; carrying out prescriptive programming; providing direct treatment assistance; assisting with informal documentation; charting and graphing clients progress; keeping a daily log of specific problems; reporting progress to his/her supervisor; scheduling activities, preparing charts, records, graphs, or otherwise displaying data; performing simple checks and maintenance of equipment; and participating with his/her supervisor in research projects, in-service training, and public relations programs. Requirements 1. Either have an AssociateGÇÖs Degree as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant or a BachelorGÇÖs Degree in Communication Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent, including a minimum of 15 credit hours in clinical related coursework from an accredited college or university; AND 2. Successfully complete a minimum of one hundred (100) hours of supervised field work or its equivalent clinical practicum OR 3. Have been previously registered as an aide with the Board for at least two (2) years. Restrictions Unprofessional conduct. License Speech-Language Pathology Assistants in Wyoming must be licensed by the Board of Speech Pathology and Audiology.
