ANIMAL EUTHANASIA TECHNICIAN
License Description
ANIMAL CONTROL WORKERS SOC Code 33-9011 Entry Salary $17.43/hr Average Salary $19.72/hr Job Description Provide a humane death for animals that are unwanted, sick, injured or dangerous. Requirements 1.Criminal background check. 2.Must be employed or sponsored by a law enforcement agency. 3.Complete an animal euthanasia training and testing program. 4.Must register with the Wyoming Board of Pharmacy to purchase, possess, and administer euthanizing drugs. 5.Training must be completed within two years of the application date. Restrictions Conviction of a felony or any criminal violation relating to cruelty to animals or animal neglect. Training There are no schools located in Wyoming, however, a licensed veterinarian may train Animal Euthanasia Technicians. If a veterinarian provides the training, they need to provide a Certificate of Completion and sign an Affidavit of Training that the Animal Euthanasia Technician has completed the necessary training.
