License Description
Description of Occupation : A Real Estate Appraiser, Federal Transactions appraises real property to determine fair value and assesses taxes in accordance with prescribed schedules: Inspects property and considers factors such as currrent market value, location of property, and building or replacement costs to make property appraisal. Computes amount of tax to be levied, using applicable tax tables, and writes reports of determinations for public record.Requirements for licensing: Licensed Appraiser: 75 classroom hours of courses in subjects related to Real Estate Appraiser including coverage of USPAP. Successful completion of the Uniform State Certification/Licensing Examination or its equivalent, 2000 hours of experience. Certified Residential Appraiser: 105 classroom hours of courses in subjects related to real estate appraiser including coverage of USPAP (105 may include the 75 classroom hours of the licensed classification requirement above). Successful completion of the Uniform State Certification/Licensing Examination or its equivalent, 2000 hours of experience (at least 50% of the experience must have been in major residential appraisal work). Certified General Appraiser: 165 classroom hours of courses in subjects related to Real Estate Appraiser including coverage of USPAP, (165 may include the 75 and 105 classroom hours required on the above classifications), Succesful completion of the Uniform State Certification/Licensing Examination or its equivalent, 2000 hours of experience (at least 50% of the experience must have been in non-residential appraisal work).See above.
