Purpose To recognize early stage academic researchers in the natural sciences and engineering.
Focus Science.
Qualifications Applicants must be stage academic researcher, meaning that you have held an independent academic position for 10 years or less as of June 1 of the year of the competition and currently hold a grant from NSERC; an independent academic position is a position that is a university faculty appointment (adjunct, non-tenured or tenured); requires that the researcher engage in research that is not under the direction of another individual; authorizes the researcher to supervise or co-supervise the research of students registered in an undergraduate or graduate degree program, or postdoctoral fellows.
Funds $250,000
Duration Annual; up to two years.
Number of Awards Up to 6.
To Apply Application must be submitted to nomination form; description of nomination (maximum 3 pages); future directions (maximum 3 pages); an nserc personal data form (form 100) (no page limit); page one of the application for a grant (form 101)-note that signatures on form 101 are not required; an impact assessment form (appendix a), if required; a list of proposed external reviewers: provide the names, organizations, departments, and email addresses of five to seven researchers who could conduct an impartial review of your nomination; a terms and conditions form for nominees signed by you-it is your responsibility to retain a copy of the agreed terms and conditions for your records.
