Purpose To introduce and connect generations of future American leaders to the island of Ireland, while recognizing and fostering intellectual achievement, leadership, and a commitment to public service and community.

Qualifications Applicants must be U.S. citizens between 18-30 years old and hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Criteria Applicants will be judged based on scholarship; leadership and a sustained commitment to community and public service.
Duration Annual.
Number of Awards Up to 12.
To Apply Applicant must submit an online application form along with four recommendations (plus an institutional endorsement if you are an undergraduate student); Passport-style photo (in PDF); All transcripts scanned into a single PDF (please block out your Social Security number if visible). This should include any undergraduate and graduate work you have completed. Unofficial transcripts are sufficient for the initial application. Finalists will be required to provide official transcripts during the interview process in Washington DC; Personal statement (1,000 words maximum - most applicants find it helpful to write this in advance); The personal statement or essay is your opportunity to share your personality, passion, and drive with the selection committee that cannot be communicated elsewhere in the application materials. You will be required to affirm that this is your original work and that no one has assisted you with the personal statement in any way; a scan of your signature (in PDF); Proof of US Citizenship.
