Purpose |
To provide for LGBTIQ+ students who either graduated from a high school in Idaho or will be attending a college or university within the state of Idaho. |

Qualifications |
Applicants must be Northwest Residency (Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or Washington); considered a resident of one of these states if they currently live within that state or have lived within that state for at least one year at any time within the last five years; pursuing post-secondary education: applicants must be pursuing post-secondary education in the coming 2024-2025 school year: includes community college, four-year public or private college or university, certificate programs, vocational/technical/trade programs, law school, medical/dental/veterinary school, or graduate education; must attending or planning to attend an accredited institution or program. |
Criteria |
Selection will be based on the following criteria for LGBTQ+ students: demonstrate a commitment to advancing justice and the well-being of their communities, past, present, and future; have experienced family rejection and/or haven’t been able to access a larger community support system; face systemic barriers to educational access, and have been impacted by systemic discrimination and oppression. Specifically: black, Indigenous, and other People of Color; trans, non-binary, gender diverse, gender non-conforming, and Two Spirit people immigrants; disabled people/People with Disabilities, including people living with chronic illness, HIV, neurodivergence, and mental health challenges; people over 25, as non-traditionally aged students people living rurally; people who have experienced or are experiencing housing instability or houselessness; people who have experienced or are experiencing poverty; demonstrate financial need and don’t have access to familial or other financial supports. |

Applicants must be submit application online application form; each essay has a maximum word length, generally from 250 to 500 words.; a scanned copy of your transcript works great; students with narrative transcripts should only include the latest document; if you’re an Alaska, Idaho, Montana, or Oregon resident, this document is not required; a letter of recommendation; 1-2 writing or art samples; required materials for the application: 3 essays, which are described in more detail in the application itself. |
