Purpose To objective of the NC Space Grant Graduate Research Fellowship program is to encourage graduate students to pursue research and careers in STEM fields that support NASA’s Mission Directorates.
Focus Space and planetary sciences.
Qualifications Applicants must be permanent U.S. Citizens; enrolled full-time in an advanced degree program of study in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM); conducting a specific faculty-mentored research project that has NASA or aerospace relevance; receiving at least half-time support from their home institution in the form of a teaching assistantship, research assistantship, or fellowship; good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 (out of 4.0); currently enrolled, or planning to be enrolled in fall 2023, in a full-time, advanced degree program of study in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) at any accredited university or college in the State of North Carolina. Criteria Selection will be based on merit recognizing high academic achievement and promise.

Duration Annual; for one year.
Number of Awards Up to 13.
To Apply Applications can be submitted online; must include a final research report to NC Space Grant; description of proposed research project; faculty recommendation; university transcripts; Description of the proposed research project; research Interests, Goals, and anticipated findings; research plan; alignment of research to NASA Mission directorates and the NC Space Grant Strategic plan; career Impact.
