HIFICU is lending a hand once again to Hawaii's students who are pursuing their higher education goals. We are happy to announce the return of the Hawaiian Financial Federal Credit Union Scholarship Program.

 

We are offering twenty (20) $2,000.00 scholarships. The scholarships are awarded to graduating high school seniors or college students looking to further their education at any two- or four-year accredited college or university in the United States of America.

Applicant must either be a member or a legal dependent of a member whose HIFICU account is in good standing* for a minimum of 3 consecutive months prior to the application deadline.

Applicant must be a US Citizen or permanent resident.

Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0

The scholarship committee will score applicants based on the following criteria:

 

ACADEMIC - Based on applicant's certified transcript.

LEADERSHIP - Based on leadership and/or school/employment activities, honors and awards, and other experiences.

SCHOOL/COMMUNITY SERVICE - Based on the quality and impact of service to their school and/or communities.

RECOMMENDATION - Based on letters of recommendation.

MERIT - Based on applicant's essay.

1. Completed application form with original signatures. Signature of parent or legal guardian is required if the applicant is a minor. Failure to have original signatures will disqualify application. Please include all information on this application. Attachments to this application will NOT be reviewed. Application form MUST be postmarked by September 30, 2021. 2. Two (2) original signed letters of recommendation from individuals not related to or living with the applicant. Letters of recommendation must be dated within one year of application submission. 3. Certified sealed school transcripts 4.
