Purpose To support junior scholars spend an academic year at the Harriman Institute, working on the revision of their individual research and participating in the life of the Harriman Institute and Columbia.
Focus Area and ethnic studies; Russian studies.
Qualifications Applicant must have received the Ph.D. in the previous year and do not hold a tenure-track position.
Duration Annual.
Number of Awards Varies.
To Apply Applicants should send the following materials: a brief research plan outlining how the candidate's time will be spent at the Institute (2-3 Pages); a curriculum vitae; a scholarly writing sample (one or two chapters of the dissertation, or a published article or book chapter related to the candidate's major research theme)the writing sample must be in English; 1-2 page preliminary syllabus or course concept (defining problem, method expectations of students and brief selection of readings) relevant to the mission of the Institute.
