Applicants must be nominated by a faculty member serving on dissertation committees at universities in the United States; must be members of ACSUS; who have completed the Ph.D. degree. |
| Criteria |
Selection should be represent an original work that makes a contribution to the nominee's discipline; must contain at least 50% content on Canada; and the topic must be comparative in nature; the dissertation will be judged on substantive and methodological quality, originality of thought and clarity. |

Applications must be accompanied by a letter of support from the student's dissertation advisor and one from an additional reference who is not a member of ACSUS; each nomination must be accompanied by a copy of the dissertation (not to exceed 500 words), typed and double-spaced; a one page resume of the nominee; and materials should be submitted electronically. |
