Purpose To provide print, broadcast, and new-media journalists in the relatively early stages of their career with the opportunity to travel to Europe or the United States for up to three weeks to conduct research and interviews and pursue stories of their own design.
Focus Journalism.
Qualifications Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen living in the United States or a German citizen living in Germany; fellows must have completed a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and must be in the relatively early stages of their careers; the Hunt fellowship requires that you are in the final stages of pursuing or have recently completed a Ph.D.; Alumni are not eligible for a second fellowship.
Funds $5,000
Duration Annual.
Number of Awards Varies.
To Apply Applicants must submit an application form, a cover letter, a three- to five-page project proposal, a current resume, and two letters of recommendation; fellows must submit a 4,000-word analytical report based on the research results they conducted. If fellows produce any additional materials; applications sent via email should be received; letters of recommendation may be sent separately.
