Purpose To promote research or projects related to astronomy.
Focus Astronomy and astronomical sciences.
Qualifications Applicants must be astronomers with PhD or equivalent; both individuals and groups are eligible.
Criteria Recipients are selected based on submitted proposals. Decisions will be made on the basis of quality research; importance of the proposed research to the international astronomy; ability of the applicant to carry out the research; and prudence of the budget estimates. Letters of reference will greatly affect the committee's decision; preference will be given to individuals of high promise who are otherwise unfunded.
Funds $20,000
Duration Annual.

To Apply Applicants must submit a description of research (maximum of three pages); a statement on the applicant's ability to finish the project; a proposed budget; description of other financial resources (if applicable); curriculum vitae and bibliography of recent papers; two reference letters from astronomers who know the applicant's work; other circumstances that might help in the selection process.
