Purpose To provide financial aid for students enrolled in technical programs who would like to pursue their education in the coal industry.
Focus Energy-related areas; Technology.
Qualifications Applicants must be enrolled in a two-year technical or trade school program, in good standing, at the time of selection; must be U.S. citizens and legal residents of one of the Rocky Mountain Coal Mining Institute member states - Arizona, Colorado, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Texas, Utah, or Wyoming; must be studying an applicable trade and interested in coal as a career path; High School seniors are eligible to apply.
Criteria Recipients are selected based on the scholarship committee's review of the application materials.
Funds $1,000
Duration Annual.
Number of Awards Varies.
To Apply Applicants must be submit three references; include name, address, business and home phone number, company or business name, and years acquainted; attach letters of reference or recommendation; Work experience. List your work experience; for all past employment, include employer’s name, address, phone number, the name of your supervisor, work performed, length of service, and the reason for leaving; Answers to the following questions (limiting each to 100 words or less): if you could pick any job, what would it be and why?, Why are you pursuing your present degree?, What do you envision doing after graduation?; Optional- Personal Statement; Proof of enrollment.
