Purpose To provide support and acknowledgement for freethinking students of color, as a minority within a minority.

Qualifications Applicants must be freethinking students of color between the ages of 17-21, who are either graduating high school seniors who will be attending a North American college or university in the fall, or students who are currently enrolled in the same. People of color includes all racial groups that are not white.

Number of Awards At least 10.
To Apply Applicant must fill out the online application and submit along with their essay. Essay must be double-spaced, standard margins, font size of 11 to 14 points; applicant's name and the name of the essay must be on each page and pages must be numbered; applicants are encouraged to use inclusive language (don't presume male, for example, use "humanity" or "humankind" instead of "mankind").
