Welcome to CareerOneStop, a suite of websites that help people explore careers, access training, and search for jobs.
Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor, all CareerOneStop resources are free to use and accessible to everyone.
During the pandemic and its impact on the workforce, these resources are more relevant than ever.
This short video will focus on tools and resources that support education and workforce professionals like yourselves in your work.
We’ll take a quick tour of CareerOneStop.org and cover many topics—but don’t worry about getting lost. You can visit CareerOneStop.org/FindIt for a complete list of everything we cover in this video.
Let’s get started with the Explore Careers section. Here you’ll find resources to identify career interests, skills and values, research career options, and choose a career path.
CareerOneStop offers three assessments – the Interest Assessment, Skills Matcher, and Work Values Matcher. You can print, download, or email results.
All three assessments are quick and easy to take, are based on O*NET data, show immediate results, and link out directly to career profiles.
Career information is presented in the career profiles and videos using clear language and engaging visuals. Videos offer a popular format to explore options and conduct career research.
You’ll find detailed career profiles of more than 900 occupations, career cluster introductions and videos, and more than 500 up-to-date career videos.
The Find Training section aims to help people distinguish between various credentials and identify what’s best for them, as well as find resources to help pay for school.
Tools in the Find Training section let you look up short-term training and degree programs, search for scholarships, learn about in-demand certifications and professional license requirements, and connect to states’ lists of WIOA eligible training providers.
Now let’s look at the Job Search section. You’ll find up-to-date, authenticated job openings and access to help with networking, resumes and interviews.
One popular activity on CareerOneStop is to research the local job market and target specific employers.
You can use tools to:
- Identify and compare salary information for different occupations and locations.
- Research employers and target job searches. In fact, the Business Finder includes profiles and contact information for more than 12 million U.S. businesses.
- Follow step-by-step instructions and templates to craft a high-impact resume with the Resume Guide.

- The new Find a Remote Job tool shows openings that offer part- or full-time work-from-home options.
- And a Veterans Job Finder maps a user’s military experience to local job openings.
Special resources for targeted audiences are located in the Resources For section.
- The Veterans site serves veterans and service members transitioning from military service.
- GetMyFuture supports young adults in career planning and job search, and Job Search Help for Ex-Offenders targets job seekers with a criminal record.

- Use the Competency Model Clearinghouse to understand the skills and knowledge needed by different industries.
- And the newest site, Employment Recovery, focuses on support and employment help for workers affected by the pandemic.
In Local Help, you’ll find contact information for local and state workforce programs and services.
- Essential resources include finders for American Job Centers that list their websites and contacts.
- On other tools, look up youth employment programs, unemployment insurance contact information, as well as job clubs and libraries.
- And to provide support for special audiences, finders include programs for refugee assistance, Native American employment, farmworker jobs, and more.
Features you may find especially useful include:
- A Toolkit on the main menu for quick access to all the tools shown in the video.
- Site translation into Spanish is available with one click.
