Purpose To support minority doctoral students who have strong interests in and commitment to a research career in sociology.
Focus Medicine; Psychology; Sociology.
Qualifications Applicants must be U.S. citizens, non-citizen nationals of the U.S., been lawfully admitted to the U.S. for permanent residence, or are eligible under DACA; members of any underrepresented racial/ethnic minority group in the U.S. (Black/African American; Latino/a/x, American Indian or Alaskan Native; or Asian or Pacific Islander); and, enrolled in (and have completed one full academic year) in a program that grants the Ph.D. in sociology.
Criteria Selection will be based on their commitment to research, the focus of their research experience, academic achievement, scholarship, writing ability, research potential, financial need, and racial/ethnic minority background.
Funds $20,000
Duration Annual.
To Apply Applicants package must include: completed fellowship application; two essays; three recommendation letters of which one should be from the mentor; official transcripts from all the undergraduate and graduate institutions that applicant has been enrolled in; curriculum vitae.
