To encourage and reward students majoring in the field of human nutrition, dietetics, foods, nutrition, or food systems management or admitted or enrolled in a dietetic internship who have demonstrated ability and potential in the field of dietetics and nutrition by aiding them financially. |

| Qualifications |
Applicants must be a junior or senior majoring in the field of human nutrition, dietetics, foods, nutrition, or food systems management or admitted or enrolled in a dietetic internship; must be a legal resident of one of the following counties: Houston, Geneva, Covington, Coffee, Dale, Henry, Pike, or Barbour; or must have been employed or volunteered in a healthcare facility in one of the stated counties; or must be the child or grandchild of an active or former member of the SE Alabama Dietetic Association; and must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above on a 4.0 scale, and a 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale in major courses of study. |

Selection is based on the scholarship; potential in the field of dietetics and nutrition ascertained by, for example, leadership in activities within and outside the school, professional interest, honors, activities, and work or volunteer experience; financial need; letters of recommendation; and letter of application. |

Applicants must submit a completed application form together with the official computed cumulative GPA (all post-secondary work related to dietetics) authenticated by a faculty member; a letter of application including statements relating to financial need, immediate and future goals, leadership activities, and personal attributes such as initiation and motivation for meeting physical, emotional, and family demands as well as graduate school requirements; and resume including personal contact data, education, honors, and awards, involvement in clubs and organizations including offices held, professional and leadership activities, and work on volunteer experience. |
