Purpose To increase the number of African Americans working as professional staff in the U.S. Congress.
Focus Political science; Public administration; United States studies.
Qualifications Applicants must be qualified African American or Black young professionals who have earned a graduate or professional degree (master's, doctoral, or juris doctorate); must have U.S. citizenship or a permit to work in the U.S. for the duration of the program; must have familiarity with the federal legislative process, the U.S. Congress, the Congressional Black Caucus and its members, and related policy; must have superior analytical skills along with outstanding oral and written communication skills; must have demonstrated commitment to social justice either through public policy, professional experience, or community-related activism aimed at improving the living conditions of the global Black community.
