Purpose To increase the number of minority students who pursue doctoral degrees in the natural science disciplines.
Focus Biological and clinical sciences; Chemistry; Computer and information sciences; Earth sciences; Mathematics and mathematical sciences; Physics; Science.
Qualifications Applicants must be underrepresented minority students (Native American, African American, Black, Hispanic American/Latino) who have either completed, are currently enrolled in a master’s program in a science-related field, or received admittance into a PhD program directly from a bachelor’s degree program; must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident; must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0; must contractually agree to intern with a GEM Employer member the Summer immediately after sponsorship. Fellowships may be used at any participating GEM Member University where the GEM Fellow is admitted.
Funds $16,000
Duration Annual.
