How to: Find a job now

Apply for Jobs

You've done your prep work—now it's time to apply for jobs.

• Apply to jobs you saved in Step 1. You can also visit Job Finder again to search for new opportunities. Need a Cover Letter? Only include one if the job posting specifies it.
• Reach out to your Business Finder contacts from Step 2, and networking contacts from Step 3. Email or mail your resume, with a letter describing how their hiring needs relate to your skills and experience. Ask if they have job opportunities they would discuss with you.
• On your worksheet: Record the positions you’ve applied for and employers you’ve contacted.
• Visit Job Applications for a refresher on filling out job application forms effectively.
